May 1, 2009 - CELEBRITY FUNDRAISER
Temple Hill was scouted a couple of months ago by the talent coordinator for this incredible event: May 1st at Ramapo College in Mahwah, NJ, there will be a massive fundraiser for Diabetes Research. Weâve been asked to kick off the night with a high energy performance to get everyone excited about raising money for this great cause. We are sharing the stage with Donny Klang from MTVâs Making the Band and Justin McKinney from Comedy Central. Expect to see some celebs in the audience, Bergen County is home for a lot of them. Tickets can be purchased at Sunset Tan in Ramsey, NJ. 100% of the proceeds will go to Diabetes Research.

Temple Hill is grabbing the attention of music fans from around the world and is earning a solid reputation for outstanding high-energy shows, strong songwriting and superb musicianship. The bandâs unique Pop/Rock sound is a melding of many different influences and styles - R & B, Rock and Funk to name a few. Beginning with a foundation of Rock-inspired, foot-stomping drums and grooving bass lines, Temple Hill adds a hefty dose of funky guitar riffs and finishes it all off with soulful vocals known to make grown men cry and ladies of all ages swoon with delight. This musical combination has already brought significant success. Last June, Temple Hill won the Emergenza US East Coast Finals at New York Cityâs Webster Hall and in August headed off to the Taubertal Open Air Festival in Rothenburg, Germany to compete at the 2008 Emergenza International Finals where they placed 1st in the US and 6th in the world, from a field of over 6,000 bands. Also, tracks from the bandâs first release, âThe Drive Home,â have been featured on the television shows âBoston Legalâ and âAll My Children.â
The band was founded by brothers, JP and Rich Molfetta, who grew up singing Gospel and R&B songs, but came to appreciate the beauty of epic Rock & Roll after the first time they heard âDream Onâ by Aerosmith. Inspired to create a Rock band, JP and Rich recruited a few local musicians, including lead guitarist Bobby Studley (2008 Emergenza US East Coast Finals Best Guitarist) and bassist Bryan Spitzer (2008 Emergenza International Finals Best Bassist), and began to lay down a few professionally recorded tracks. Soon after completing the recordings, the band learned of a contest being held by popular local radio station K104.7-FM for a chance to play on stage at K-Fest, the stationâs annual outdoor concert at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, NY. Taking a chance, the band submitted the tracks to the station and won the contest! Temple Hillâs first professional gig was playing in front of thousands of screaming fans, as the opener for Good Charlotte!
After K-fest, Temple Hill revised its roster a few times, finally coming up with the right musical chemistry after the addition of guitarist Jordan Yaeger and drummer Adam Tabas as full-time members. In addition to writing and recording songs for âThe Drive Homeâ which was released last year, the band has played shows all over the New York City metro area, gigging at notable venues like the Knitting Factory, Crash Mansion, Webster Hall and The Bitter End.
Temple Hill is currently writing new songs and preparing to record their second CD. The band is also playing gigs in cities throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic United States. Keep an eye for a show in your hometown. Thereâs no doubt that if you come to a Temple Hill show, whether at a small club or one of the largest international festivals in Europe, you will leave satisfied.
